Available Quantity for Converted Units (Volume to Weight) in Fertilizers
In our last newsletter, we informed you that we had added the option to convert units from volume to weight (and vice versa) for fertilizers. We have now extended this functionality to display the available quantity in the PPP form also for the converted units.
For example, if you have DAM fertilizer stored in tonnes, the PPP form will now show how much is available in litres for usage, and you can use the entire available quantity from stock.
Automatic Deductions for the Nitrates Directive – Field Management Near Surface Water Bodies
Following up on our previous newsletter, where we announced monitoring for farming activities on sloped land near surface water bodies, we have now implemented automation for this process. The deductions are automatically applied to the specified plots, and the application area is reduced accordingly.
Activity Copy
As the name suggests, Activity Copy creates a duplicate of an already created form. This feature is designed to make entering similar activities easier. The copy reproduces the original form exactly, allowing the user to modify any details as needed. After making changes, the form again performs legislative checks and deductions for plant protection products.
Display of Nitrogen on Parcel Detail for Future Crops
Another new feature relates to the sowing plan and nitrogen accounting for future crops. Previously, when a crop was harvested but no new crop had yet been sown, the nitrogen assigned to the future crop was not visible. We’ve now improved this – nitrogen for the future crop is displayed in the parcel detail.
If a crop for the next season is already entered in the crop rotation plan, it will appear in the Crops and applications section, marked with an icon.
Such a crop has no date in the period column, since sowing has not yet occurred, but the assigned nitrogen is shown. Once sowing takes place, the icon disappears.
If no sowing plan is filled in, the status No crop appears after harvest, showing the nitrogen that was applied. The benefit of this display is that it also shows the residual nitrogen after harvesting nitrogen-fixing crops, e.g. 25 kg N/ha after soybean harvest.
If sowing has already been entered with a future date, both the future crop (with the icon) and the crop with the set sowing date will appear simultaneously. Once the calendar reaches the sowing date, these two rows merge automatically. This is a temporary behavior that will be refined by the end of this year, so that only one crop remains displayed. This does not affect nitrogen calculation accuracy.
Display of Target Crop from Future Sowing Plans in Forms
When a user uses a crop sowing plan, and a parcel is in the No crop status, the PPP and Sowing forms automatically suggest the target crop from the crop rotation plan. In addition, the plot table now includes a column showing the future target crop, so the user can immediately see which crop is planned.
If the user selects multiple parcels and one of the future crops does not match the target crop selected in the form, the system will notify the user.
Such a parcel will be highlighted in yellow and marked with the message:
“A different target crop has been selected than the one listed in the crop sowing plan.”
Spring/Autumn, Pre-emergence/Post-emergence
In the plant protection product (PPP) database, we have added the ability to differentiate buffer zone deductions (from water bodies and field boundaries) according to the application season. If the deductions differ for spring and autumn applications, you can now select the period in the PPP form, and the appropriate deduction will be applied automatically.
User Feedback
Our goal is to create an application that simplifies your daily work, and we greatly appreciate your feedback and improvement suggestions. Among the updates inspired by your input, we’d like to highlight the following:
Added Unit “Individuals”
Some users requested the “individuals” unit, used for example with the plant protection product Tricholet. To enable proper record-keeping for such PPPs, this unit has been added to the application. It can now be used in PPP entries, inventory records, and will also appear correctly in reports.
Unified Decimal Places in Reports
In the Reports section, the number of decimal places has been standardized:
Parcel area and application area always display two decimal places.
Dose information now shows three decimal places.
Display of Nitrogen for Perennial Crops in Parcel Detail
You asked for an improvement to how nitrogen is displayed for perennial crops in the parcel detail view. This has now been updated — the nitrogen value for perennial crops is displayed per calendar year.
